So What is Thai Yoga Massage?
This unique system of traditional, natural medicine and Yoga therapy finds it’s ancient roots first in the traditions of classical Ayurveda as far back as the 5th century BCE. The man credited with founding the practice of Thai Yoga Massage, was a traveler by the name of Dr. Jivaka Komarabhacca. When in China and Thailand, he was drawn to commune with and treat the Buddhist mocks that lived and practiced in the temples he would visit, and frequently live in. He was rumored to have been the direct physician of the Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama, he is revered as the founder of the world religion of Buddhism)
Fast forward to the world as we find it in the present, 2500 years later, where his gift to the world can still be experienced. Through the practice and intention we can honor and thank the good doctor, and all the students who followed. Namaste.
